Shirley Minnitee Turnipseed

Shirley Minnitee Turnipseed, was born the seventh child of Johnson and Ila Bell Minnitee. At two weeks old, she was given to her grandmother Mamie Langston and Uncle and Aunt, Olice & Sallie George, due to the untimely death of her mother.

Shirley currently resides in Jonesboro Georgia. She is the mother of two beautiful daughters, Jameia (Pastor Douglas) Johnson and Koyia J. White. Her greatest joys are her grandchildren, Jazmene Emiel ,Darrius Jamon Johnson and Mekhi Najee White-Smith, all of Decatur Georgia.

Shirley attended Clayton State College and the University of Georgia, where she received certifications as a personal property appraiser. She is currently seeking to earn a degree from Atlanta Christian College.

Shirley has served in various ministries from an early age including choir directress, praise and worship leader, psalmist, intercessory prayer and women’s fellowship just to name a few. Some of her most memorable experiences were recording with Andrews Chapel Mass Choir and the group “Remnant,” of which she was a founding member and vice president.

While serving on her journey, in January 1998, she was called into ministry and licensed under Pastor Darryl Winston, Church of Greater Works International. This call carried her to several ministries. Presently, at Exousia Lighthouse Christian ministries, she serves as a Minister of Visitation, partnering with the create, outreach and member care ministries. She also serves on the praise team with the worship and celebrate ministries. Shirley’s heart is to glorify God and minister in the “charge” that God has commissioned her to.
